'89 Iroc-Z engine problem

I have a 5.7L L98 engine that is giving some problems... When its idling, sometimes it will sound like its about to flood and quit, but then races up and in about 10 seconds the rpm is back low again. Its also idling rough, it will be shaking the whole car at a red light when I'm stopped. After driving 60-70 mph for about 10 mins, my Service Engine Soon lights up. I have flashed out the codes a few times and I keep getting 36 & 45. I have looked them up but 36 doesn't make any sense to me.

36. Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR Problem in transmission shift OR Fault in direct ignition system OR Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal

45. Oxygen sensor rich

45 makes sense, too much fuel in exhaust, but 36 has 4 different possibilities, that are not related to each other at all. Any help is appreciated guys.. Also if you suggest new spark plugs, already done about 3 weeks ago. If you think its a sensor of some type please let me know a way that I can test it to confirm that it is or is not working properly.

Thanks a lot.
