alternator ?

I have a 357 ci motor ,carbed ,new wiring harness with the master shut off in rear.

My alt is not charging my battery.
I have the excitor wire hooked to the harness labeled for it and the other wire run to the shut off.
I do not have anything hooked to the stud on the back of the alt, should this be connected to the + side of the batt?
I tested it w/engine runnig and it puts out higher than 12 volts depending on the rpm's of the engine so I wanted to varify b4 trying.

Thanks
Mike

Happy Racing!

Fog lights are not driving lights. They look dorky. Turn em off slow pokes.

How bout those dorks too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime!
