spark plug wires,,which ones for V-8 headers

hi , i need new plug wires, i have headers so i need the insulated type, when i got the car it came with mallory 8.8mm wires, i want to change them now and i would need wires for a HEI distribuor and the plug boots all at 90' angle .any suggestions or better yet a part number?...thanks in advance,

Check out the MSD line. They make good insulated plug wires with the 90 degree boots. Either JEGS or Summit Racing has them in stock. Go on their website and compare to what best suits your needs.

I've used stock, MSD, and Moroso wires with my headers and they all have ran well. However, I had a thick MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wire that fell down a bit so it was barely touching the header and it melted pretty fast!

My advice is, regardless of what brand or thickness you buy, get some plug wire clips to keep the wires secure and as far from the headers as possible.

You can also buy insulator sleeves that go on the wire at the plug boot - they look like they're made of abestos, and about 6 inches long.

And you if you really want to dress up your engine compartment, maybe think about getting a good set of wire looms to have it all look nice and tight.
