fuel tank sending unit confusion

Went to change the electric fuel pump on my '87 IROC, 5.0 TPI, and found the reason my gauge doesn't work, either. When I had the pump changed a couple years ago, the mechanic cut the gauge wire and removed the gizmo that sends the signal Wish I still lived in Nashville so I could go back and raise hell, but will have to chalk this up as lesson learned I guess. Problem I'm having now is that my wiring harness code from the old unit is FEU and all the replacements I'm finding are FPH. Does anyone know the correct code I need? I'm wondering if this is correct or if the previous owner changed in a different one from some other vehicle. Looking around the web, I'm not finding the FEU listed anyplace. With the weather so nice, I'm getting edgy not being able to get out and go topless.

Re: fuel tank sending unit confusion

Starting to think that if this is the right code on mine, maybe FEU and FPH are the same thing. Guess I'll just have to get one and see...

Not certain if the codes indicate a different sender, most should be the same, the biggest differences I've ran across have been wire colors.
