engine rebuild torque specs

So I'm in the process of putting my engine back together and I can't find torque specs for everything. As a result when installing the cam plate I broke one of the bolts off. I really don't want to just guess. I guess what i really need is specs for the lifter hold down, cam plate, oil pan, timing cover, heads, intake, and accessories.

any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Re: engine rebuild torque specs

I'm inside for the night, and my Chiltons manual is outside, is it a 350 or 305? Can I ask, do you have a Chilton's manual, have you considered getting one?

Re: engine rebuild torque specs

It doesn't matter if it is a 305 or a 350.

Rather than type out all the specs you need, here's a link to the very first site that was listed when I did a google search for 'chevy small block torque specs': http://www.boxwrench.net/specs/chevy_sb.htm

Re: engine rebuild torque specs

wow, for some reason I remember searching for that before and had trouble finding what I was looking for. Plus I was a little tired and frustrated last night. Thanks for the quick replies!

Re: engine rebuild torque specs

two things that weren't on the first site listed:

Thrust plate: 8 - 10 ft/lbs
Lifter holdown spider: 18 ft/lbs

Found the lifter holdown spider spec in an installation guide for edelborock lifters, unfortunately didn't have the same luck with the thrust plate.

edit: found thrust plate for ford engines, should be about the same???
