Power Steering pulley installation tool

Hey Fellas. I was hoping that maby one of you has knowledge of the power steering pulleyremoval/installation tool. My question is, What is the size of the smaller threaded end that screws into the shaft of the power steering pump? I need to know the size so that I can buy just a bolt instead of the tool itself to save me some money. Thanks guyz .

Re: Power Steering pulley installation tool

It is a 3/8 x 16 NC thread. May need to clean the dirt out first, seems to build up in the internal threaded end of the shaft.

Can use a light coat of oil on the ID of the pulley to help out.

RBob.

Nice. RBob. One more thing, what does NC stand for?

If it's just a one time thing, you may be able to rent them for free from a local parts store. That's what I do.

NC = National Coarse. Which in this case redundant as the -16 thread already specifies that.

If the thread was 3/8-24 then if would be NF, National Fine.

There is also a NSF spec, National Special Fine. I think for 3/8" it is 27 threads per inch.
