flipped 92 Z28 now wont run

Ok,first I did a search but no hits... I have bought a 92 Z28 tpi car that was flipped on its top...now when I turn the key on I don't here the fuel pump kick on...I was wondering if the thirdgens have a breaker type saafety switch to shut off the fuel in case of a rollover??any ideas would be helpful...it also has a python alarm on it,would this affect it?

Fuel pump problems seem to very prominent lately. Try this thread for ideas: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/te...problem-i.html (feul pump problem ....i think???...) Or my thread which is here: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/te...i-no-fuel.html (89 TBI no fuel delivery problem) , It may help give you a direction to start looking in. Good luck!

Your car got flipped over & your worried about the fuel pump?

I suspect you have a LOT of bodywork (if the body can be saved at all) to take car of, before the lack of a fuel pump is of any concern!

Re: flipped 92 Z28 now wont run

and what relavance does this have ot do with anything he asked. MAYBE he bought it for the drive train and wats to see how it runs before he puts anymore time into removing it all etc.

or nybe he is gonna fix the car.

to the op: check out the links above. Our cars DONT have a breaker like others.
1st. Id check the relay see if its cycling on with the key. Then work your way back to the fuel pump. have a multi meter check for power, etc.. Good luck.

any pictures of the poor car?

you hit it on the nose,I bought it for the drivetrain and to share the good parts with fellow thirdgenners, instead of it going to the scrapper..

I wanna hear it run before I dive into it...

If you just want to hear it run and don't want to delve into a powerless fuel pump issue, you could jump the ALDL and power it directly.

Re: flipped 92 Z28 now wont run

If the pump is dead jumping the ALDL wont do anything. Give it a shot. Use a jumper lead from the fuse box 12v to terminal G on the aldl. ( bottom left on aldl)

If that doesnt work you can always cut the fuel line and run a extermal pump and hose into a gas can for now. That will let ya start ot up. Been there done that before.
