Re: 91 rs idles way to high???????

HOpe I'm not stating the obvious but I full tune up does wonders and even if it doesn't cure it you will have an easier time isolating the problem. My car idled at nearly 2000 and in thecourse of a good tune up that slowy went to about 800. NOt sure exactly what fixed it but the seafoam treatment had a big effect. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing, air filter, oil, filter, fuel filter, full seafoam to clean the throttle body and fuel system, check for vacuum leaks, PCV valve and breather. check O2 sensor, check throttle position sensor. Even if it doesn't fix the problem the car should run a lot better and you will have eliminated several possibilties. tehere may be several contributing factors. Be sure to do the seafoam BEFORE you change your oil, plugs and especially fuel filter. It will foul them with all the gunk it removes. Also, OBD1 testers are cheap. Check for codes. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out!
