Starter Keeps shorting out

I keep having problems with starter solenoid shorting out on my car and then the car looses power to everything. I mean, no lights, no radio, nothing works. Not even the accessories that are directly hooked up to the battery. Now once i remove the wiring from the starter, everything works again, but it you touch the solenoid. Everything goes out again. I've been through three starters this year and havent been able to figure out why the solenoid keeps shorting out. I know there's a small chance that i could be getting bad starters, but i want to check out all my options cause the tow bills arent cheap. If anyone had a suggestion, please help. Thanks.

Re: Starter Keeps shorting out

I'm betting you have a blown fusible link, or a burned out ground strap from the battery to the motor.
