Car: 1989 pontiac trans am gta Engine: tpi 5.7 Transmission: th700r4 | What's wrong with my fuel pump I recently installed a new fuel pump on my car while I was waiting for my new engine to be built. I've reinstalled everything in the car now, but when turn the ignition switch, the fuel pump does not come on. I tried replacing the relay, but that did not help. I checked the connector at the back of the car that the fuel tank plugs into. Using a dummy light, I found that the middle terminal would make the light come on, but the two outside terminals do not. Are they supposed to?
Is there anything else that I can check before going through the effort to pull the fuel tank back out of the car? My fear is that I crossed up something when I installed the new pump and wiring harness. Any suggestions are welcome. The car has been off the road for over a year now, and I'm ready to drive it again!
