i have an 85 camaro that stays running for a minute after ke is shutt off what could cause this i replaced the key switch didnt fix it and my tach reads 4500 at idle and 0 oil pressure please help
does it continue running smoothly, or does it start sounding like a poorly-idling diesel engine being lugged? The answer to this will tell whether the problem is engine related or electrical.
either your ignition timing is wrong, or you have carbon buildup in the combustion chambers, or both. When there's carbon, it stays hot enough to keep igniting the fuel, even without the sparkplug firing.
oh ok thanks for the help i am putting new wires, plugs, cap, and rotor on today. Then i am going to change the carb but now what could be the problem with the tach and oil pressure gauge
