car has sat for a year... what needs checked/changed?

my 87 gta has been severely neglected for the last year or so, and in the year before that it was barely run.

what all do i need to check/change for a 3-4 mile drive to my new house, and for me to start driving it on the weekends again? need it ready to go in the next week or two since i'm moving but i would like to get it running tip-top again once i get it there also.

you should be alright to drive it those 4 miles to the new house.

When i bought my 87 TA, it had been sitting for 2 years. I drove the car 35 miles to get it one but once i got it there I put new plugs, gas, oil, filter, coolant and tires on it.

Im going to do a trans service and drain and fill the rear end before i start racing it at the track though.

Dont worry about it. Just top off the gas and fluids and drive away.

Not sure how long it takes for gas to go truly "bad", but running a crate engine on gas that's over a month old will often void the warranty. Just food for thought

make sure your brakes are legit. sitting for that long the calipers could really easily be locked up or get stuck when your trying to get it to your new place. throw a bottle of injector cleaner in there, and drive to your new place.... should be fine. i just drove my trans am an hour south to my house, it barely ran and i couldnt get it to do over 40. threw a bottle of cleaner in there and boom i was doing an easy 105mph just testing it out.
