Alternator Adjusting Bracket

Ok, so my belt was squeaking when I would start up the car cold sometimes, so I figured I would pull the belt off, clean it up and put it back on and see how that would be. I loosened the bolt that holds the alternator onto the adjusting bracket and slid it back, but when I did the metal just started breaking off, basically rusted off, I have a pic below of what Im talking about. Now I went to my local GM dealership and they said this part is no longer available. Is there any way I can get my hands on another one?

Thanks, Trent

Here is the pic...

Re: Alternator Adjusting Bracket

Autozone should have one on the shelf in chrome that will replace that - looks just like the one I just bought - I want to think it was under $25 maybe? Attaching points for that part of it (the top part are the water pump and the intake, right?

Looks like: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-5171/

In fact, I think this is the exact same one that Autozone carries. The summit pic shows the top part (the part that broke), and the bottom part (which you should have under there.

Re: Alternator Adjusting Bracket

Looks very similar, however I don't have an autozone here in NL, Canada, there is an autoparts network that i checked out that sells AC Delco parts and they cant get it either. Now ive checked Ebay and they sell the 2 parts that you mentioned for something like $100 which sounds a bit steep if you ask me.
