fuel pump? i think, i dont know - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Alright i have a 92 camaro RS i bought it from my dad and it was running fine all except the fan had to be rigged with a toggle switch cuz it wasnt turning on when it was supose to until one time i forgot to turn the fan on it got a little hot and i cought it then it started sputtering a little but it didnt do it next time i cranked it up no big deal right til i drove it around some more it started sputtering again and cut out on me i called my dad he told me to get a new map censor and ignition coil did that it was runnin fine again then drivin around one day the sputtering was back now it comes and goes more frequently it will start randomly after driving it for a while i wont be able to get it to go past 3500 rpm and itll sputter than number will progressively get lower as i go until i stop somewhere for a couple hours and apparently when its sputtering gas comes up and out of the fuel door i didnt even notice that until i saw the big stain on the side of my car and sometimes when backing up or moveing slow through a parking lot it will just cut off on me i have know idea whats causing the problem all i can think of is the fuel pump but i dont know where it is and no one else seems to be able to give me any good advice either HELLPP!!!!!! plz

Check your fuel press with a gauge to see if your fuel pump and fuel press regulator is working the way it should? Check ur fuel tank vent as well??
