will a older steering column fit an 89 iroc?
I recently got to fixing up a 89 iroc steering column but bought and older steering column from the junk yard. it pretty much has the same wiring but this new steering column has a extra wire that connects to the shifter? my previous steering column did not have this, the rest of the wiring seems to be identical, any suggestions on if this will be possible. i believe the car i took it from was a barinetta Not sure on the spelling nor year?

Alright i tried to install the steering column today and i could not get the thing to column to fit with the other bar inside the engine compartment through the firewall. You all know what i mean, i tried and tried just could not get it to work with me. anyone going through this or have gone through this help me out.
