Re-building 350 TPI help with parts advice, input please!

So im re-building my 350 TPI in my 90 Iroc, its all stock except the Holley 54mm (i think) throttle body and K&N filter. so basically ive got some parts picked out and just want some ideas and input as to if there going to work together and what i should use for the stuff im missing.

just for a baseline, its going to be my daily driver, dont want to get to crazy but i want it beefy. i do plan on rebuilding the rear end and have a heavy duty rebuilt 700r4 with a stage 2 B&m shift kit. i know itll be alot to go through but any help would be much appreciated.

so im thinking :
Vortec Heads http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-151124/ or
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12558060/
Vortec baseplate/manifold - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-
3817/
SLP Runners - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-20002/

Gasket Set - http://cgi.ebay.ca/SBC-Chevy-FelPro-...3D10%26ps%3D63

Nitrous - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

now i know theres more to it and thats the other bit i need help with, what Cam to use? ive heard a ZZ9 cams are good. as well what ignition? upgrade to a MSD box? what would be good headers? am i going to need a custom prom or would a hypertech ect chip do?

what else am i missing? its just a lil overwhelming, this is my first real project and i dont have anyone to really help me so im hoping my third gen bretheren can. thanks!

- Erick

Are you rebuilding the bottom end or just doing a cam/intake upgrade to the stock long block?

it would be wise to rebuild the bottom end as well espically if it has some miles on it... i upgraded my old l98 with a crane cam and a highflow tpi and some headwork on the stock block and a few months later i spung three bearings on the dyno... btw that holley should be a 52mm instead of a 54mm..

yeah that combo you would be more than happy with.... i would also do things like a new torque arm, sfcs, lcas, panhard bar to really take advantage of all that new power.... after that then you will be set...

i've heard from a couple different sources that the
"roller"blocks can crack in the lifter valley, but don't
know any details on where the cracks occur-just
something to check if you have the shortblock apart.

Don't worry about it. You're not cracking a block at those power levels.
