My car runs like crap.

I have a 1987 camaro 252 V6. A couple weeks ago i went through a giant puddle in it after a storm. After that it doesn't run right. The water went up to the doors and my air filters were soaked. My oil was milk. I also have no muffler on it. Every time i turn it on it idols around 350rpm. It ticks while warming up and after it has warmed up it runs at 1500rpm.Well someone told me i could have a bad o2 sensor. but on the bad side they also told me i could have a blown head gasket from all the water. because short of blowing a head i can see how that much water got into my car. but before this my car was still running like crap. it died sometimes while driving and also had and has very irregular idling. and technically it is not an SS it is a LS but my grandpa who owned it before me put the SS logo on.

Re: My car runs like crap.

When you went throught puddle did you change the oil and then change it again after you did this. Because it might still have water lurking in the engine BAD.

You somehow got water in your engine, thats why your OIL is milky. And that TICKING you hear is probably your Main bearings. You've spun your main bearings due to the water in the oil...........Sorry, not good.

Re: My car runs like crap.

I changed the oil twice in it. and i pulled all the spark plugs out and tried starting it to get all the residual water out of there.

I'm really sorry to tell you, but by the sounds of it, I think the damage is already done!

But look on the bright side, after you get your engine block machined at a GOOD shop, your 305 will end up being a 307 or so, and all you'll need is a set of thicker bearings and maybe new piston rings. All other engine components are reusable.
