I'm really sorry to tell you, but by the
sounds of it, I think the damage is already done!
But look on the bright side, after you get your engine block machined at a GOOD shop, your 305 will end up being a 307 or so, and all you'll need is a set of thicker bearings and
maybe new piston rings. All other engine components are reusable.
