Confused about new plug wires

I just got the MSD 8.5 plug wires.

Look at the coil wire, is the terminal end supposed to stick out from the end of the boot? This is for a 1990 tbi RS. I ran these same wires before but the terminal end or contact point didn't stick out on the first set. It wont snap in place on my coil. What am I missing?

You have Points style wires, not HEI.

Crap, points style. That part number came up for my car. I wonder what Summit would do for me, I have already installed all the plug wires on the car.

Re: Confused about new plug wires

The new revamped summit online catalog is crap! I've had a whole slew of wrong parts lately because I simply ordered the wrong crap. For instance, fill out car, make model year, engine...blablablabla... 1987 Iroc Z 350. Timing chain summit brand, low and behold you get a few and at first sight no real difference until you check under application and then way at the bottom one notes it's for oem roller, the other not. So if you don't look there you get the wrong stuff. I mistakingly assumed filling out year/make/model would yield the correct parts. This is just 1 example...happened many times as of late. The most expensive one is an ATI balancer than turned out to be just the damper shell, no freaking hub.

Just get some new end is redo em.

Would of been easier n cheaper if ya did that in the first place.

Just get the uni set, cut as needed n put your own ends on, the kits come with both type.
