Car was without a hood for a few days and it rained pretty hard this past thursday (still had no hood). Friday I was able to put the hood on and then tried to start it on Saturday. It fired up as usual and I was checking all of the gauges when I saw the volts were pegged at 18 volts. As soon as I saw this the car stumbled and stalled and would not restart.
Got the altnerator tested and checked out good. Tested the coil, coil was bad. Replaced the coil, distributor cap and rotor.
It is getting fuel, so that is not the problem, but it will just sit there and crank, not even try to catch. Starting fluid didn't do anything. Any ideas what else may be causing this? Only other idea I had was the ignition control module but figured I'd ask you guys.
Also, I checked the computer for codes and there are none stored.
Really? I posted here because it is pertinent to the TBI engines L03 and L05, not to the specific car. Whenever TBI questions are asked on forums such as impalassforum.com we are referred to thirdgen.org
