Engine Sounds like a miss???

I have a 92 camaro RS with an 89 350 in it it has a custom computer chip, exhaust, intake and TBI work done. about a week ago it started to sound like it was missing it idels rough and shutters and hesitates under acceleration. Since then i have put a new TPS sensor Map sensor fuel filter, and cap and rotor, when i removed the cap and rotor i noticed that the node that fires number 6 was corroded and looked different then the rest so i thought the new cap and rotor would of solved the problem, I ran it for a couple days and it still sounded like it was missing and now the new cap looks the same way on the number 6 node as the old one did. I have tested the pickup coil in the distributor and the remote coil too and both tested ok. I have also been getting an EGR code but it is opening and closing fine so i think something else is triggering the code. I have no idea what else it could be I am stummped any suggestions?

Re: Engine Sounds like a miss???

change plugs n wires, they don't last forever like the newer cars.
And these cars eat ign parts like candy.

Also keep track of said plugs when taken out, which is which.

Re: Engine Sounds like a miss???

6 months doesn't mean anything; check each wire with an ohm meter for proper resistance. change plugs.

Run car in the dark with hood open, look for spark leak, then mist with a water bottle, should still see no fireworks.

If ya see any spark.....

The spark will take the path of least resistance, even if that mean coming through the rubber shield, or out the side of a coil.
