I replaced my fuel tank, fuel pump, filter, feed/return lines, and rebuilt my fuel rail. I energized the fuel pump and heard it humming and pushing air through the system but no fuel. Do I need to prime the pump somehow? I turned the pump off and on for at least 3 minutes.
I am not sure how it could leak. I did not use the pulsator but instead used high pressure fuel line with hose clamps. Something just seems odd. I would think the prime would prime by itself as well but fuel does not even sound like it is getting close to the rail. I jsut thought since the entire system does not have fuel it would need to be primed. It just sucks to be this close but not able to get the car started.
pump running backwards?-check valve should keep it
from pumping backwards, but you will still hear it run
-take the feed hose off under hood, cover end with a rag
to prevent splash, run pump for a second to see if any
fuel is pumped,if not time to start checking...
Wow, I hope that is not the case. I have no idea how it could be backwards as I used the existing harness. If it is in fact running backwards, can I just reverse the wires leading to the connector behind the back seat?
