| Re: 1982 camaro backfire Either your firing order is off, or you've got a bad plug, or bad plug wire.
Leave the distributor where it is, make sure again #1 cylinder is TDC on compression stroke, the take dist cap off - wherever rotor points, that is NOW your #1 plug wire - make sure that wire runs to #1 cylinder - then follow the firing order.
Also, check each plug and make sure they are firing.
Also, check each plug wire, one at a time, for continuity with a volt/ohm meter - there should be very very little resistance on any of them. Even if they are new wires, check them - can't tell you how many bad "new out of the box" wires I've bought over the years.
