smog pump delete questions - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

A long time ago the catalytic converters on my 92 GTA (350 TPI) clogged up so they were cut off, and not too long ago the smog pump decided to make a loud ticking noise so I've removed it and replaced the belt, re-routing it as well. Some of the emissions components are still there, however.

My question is should I remove the piping that went to the smog pump from the exhaust manifolds? What should I plug the holes left with, and what size are they? They seem like they'll be very hard to get to, but the point of removing them at this point is to make tune ups a little easier in the future since they are really in the way. That and they are an exhaust leak.

I pulled all of it on my 88 'bird. I used (I think...) 1/4 inch brass pipe plugs. May want to put some kind of thread locker on them, as mine had a tendency to back out. (over a period of a month or two.)
