I realize these are way overkill from an operational standpoint for what I'm planning but wouldn't this get rid of the whole narrow/wide, self aligning/non S.A., guide plate nonsense? I'm guessing I'd have to go to perimeter bolt valve covers but would I need tall ones?
The only time you really need tall valve covers is if you're using a stud girdle or have longer than stock, valves and springs. The majority of stud or shaft mount rockers will fit under regular valve covers even if there's just some minor clearancing required.

Skeptic that I am, I would have to be somewhat suspicious of the quality of this setup!!!!! About 1/3 the cost of a Jesel shaft system, is the quality about 1/3 of the good stuff, too???? Definitely an import piece.... For me, I'd have to do the see, feel, touch thing on them before spending any money.... I guess if I had enough engine to justify a shaft system, I'd be for going with a known product rather then something that could be nothing more then a cheap knockoff.......

The only good quality shaft rocker system is Jesel or T&D. That SBC set is good for a typical street engine but I wouldn't trust it on any kind of real performance engine.
You would actually be better off buying some Comp Pro Magnum rockers.
