fuel pump relay question.

i just replaced my fuel pump relay and my car ran fine for about 2 weeks. Then it sat for about a week in the rain. now it hard starts again. The corners of the hood are curled up from the hood flying up on the freeway. water could have gone directly on the relay, could this make it stop working? or does another blown relay mean the pump is bad? THANKS FOR AANY HELP.

Re: fuel pump relay question.

What lead you to believe it was the relay?

Re: fuel pump relay question.

it was hard starting for a while, the relay got replaced and it worked. i checked the fuse and it's okay. i'm pretty sure it's the relay because it's acting exactly the same. i think the relay could have gotten water in it.

Re: fuel pump relay question.

Roll the window down, turn on the key and listen for the pump running. If the pump runs the relay is ok. Something else probably causing the trouble. Maybe water/moisture under the dist. cap or something.
