Three problems; stalling and light replacement

Three problems; stalling and light replacement
It's been a long time since I've been on here, but... you know how it goes.
1986 Firebird, hasn't run in a long time until I had to send my other car to the shop. Now it's snowy, difficult, and dangerous, regardless, it doesn't want to stay running, which isn't new. But even after getting it to stay running within the first couple minutes once I put it in gear the rpms drop and it decides to stall. If I get past that it crawls at idle and a little gas will make it stall. If I get past that it'll crawl, a little gas makes it move, then I try to pull into traffic and it stalls... not fun. Once it warms up it's fine.
On a different note, the driver side headlight won't pop up on it's own. Except if I twist the **** under the hood it flies open. After putting it down I'll twist the **** a little and it'll twitch funny, flip the switch and it works. Put them down and try to get them back up and it won't work again. I'm not sure what it is, not that the gears don't work, just that... it's almost like a connetion isn't being made until I move it and set it right. I don't know, anyone else would have better knowledge of this than me.
And then... passenger fog light is out and can't remove the third hex screw at the top since it's up inside the bumper. How do I get to this?

Re: Three problems; stalling and light replacement
The stalling could be related to several things such as a failing fuel pump. Does your car have a carburetor or is it FI?
I would start with testing the fuel pump and work my way forward.
Hope this helps.

It's carburated. Just talking to other people I'm looking at the choke, some solenoid in the carburator that's supposed to move when the a/c clicks on to raise the rpms... fuel filter, or pump... I noticed that a couple spark plug wires are melted to the block. I think it needs a lot of regular maintenance.
After this morning of fighting with it to keep it running the transmission (auto) shifts really hard at high rpm regardless of amount of gas and doesn't seem to go into overdrive at all.
