antifreeze in engine oil

Alrighty so heres my problem> Today I went out to drop some of the engine oil, because i over filled it last week saturday by a little when I did a oil change. On tuesday I had to replace the radiator hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the intake cause the guy who did the previous decided to do a hack job on the hose. Now the stupid thing I pry did when i changed the hose i just let the antifreeze just fall out. Then today when I went to drain some of that excess oil i saw that there was some yellowish/green **** in the oil change pan and i dont think i stuck anything in the oil change pan that had antifreeze on it.

So my question is when i removed the old radiator hose and let the **** run all over that I could have got some in there some how? And am i gonna have to do another oil change to get it out?

Also not sure if this is in the right section

Thnx for help in advance

Whew!!!!, go cheap and change the oil again......if its still there it might be a cracked head or head gasket....did you over heat at anypoint?

Naw its never over heated usually between the 110 and 220(believe those are the numbers on the temp guage) on the gauge. And when i changed the oil the first time there was nothing in it. Aite so ill change the oil again today after i get back from a movie and pick the stuff up and change it and let you know what happens

Re: antifreeze in engine oil

It's unlikely that when you changed the upper rad hose that you somehow got antifreeze into the crankcase unless some part of the engine was open at the time such as having valve covers off etc.

Although it's possible that you have a bad head gasket, it's more likely that you have bad intake manifold gaskets. The coolant passages from the head to the intake can leak directly into the lifter valley.

Re: antifreeze in engine oil

Alrighty so if i drain the oil that will take care of getting the antifreeze out?

And after i change the oil let it run for a bit and drain some and see if there is antifreeze in the oil again?

Also how hard is it to fix a head gasket/intake manifold gasket(if thats wat it is and any idea how much for parts 350tbi) for someone to fix thats ok with fixing things or is it better of going to a mechanic?

Re: antifreeze in engine oil

It's not super hard to do yourself, but the TPI is a pain in the *** to dismantle.

I'd just run new oil in and see waht it looks like. Whenever I've had coolant in my oil it never looked green at all. It looked milkshakey.

And for the record, that was from a cracked cylinder bore.
