Blending cylinder head bowls

083 casting number i completely finished the exhaust side of the heads but have stopped at the intake sides i have took as much metal as i wanted to off the intake runner and am now at the bowl trying to decide to blend it or not. At the ring of the bowl there seem so be a swirling lip which is in all honesty confusing me. Now these are the first heads i have ever ported so i dont know if other cylinder heads have this same lip or if this a TPI head feature similar to the TBI head swirl port. SO basically im asking do i shave this down flesh with the runner or leave this lip and finish cleaning the runners up and slap em back on.
