What to do?

Hello All,

I'll start with saying, I'm sure my question has been answered a thousand times, so I apologize advance. I have a '88 IROC L98, stock as far as I can tell. I have never rebuilt a motor before and I'm wondering how far can I take this 5.7 while staying within the stock TPI parameters. The head gasket blew and I ripped the whole motor out (and the trans) and figured I'd rebuild the whole darn thing! I know I know, what an idiot.... I've always wanted to rebuild my own motor, so here's my chance. I don't have much money, I just want to know what more I can do to surpass the stock 245hp! Can I go 355ci or can I go 383ci? More or less I just want to get my car back on the road, I'm leaning more to the 355ci because of the cost but I just don't know. Thanks to all!

Re: What to do?

For now a thousand bucks, I know that wont go to far! I'm just trying to get a good direction! I figure I should save some money to freshen up the trans since it's out of the car! I just want to get the car's gut's in good working order, hopefully with a little kick. If only I were rich!! Thanks!
