what kind of engine oil should i use???
I live in central Wisconsin and i have a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am with a 5.7 350 tpi V8 as the motor..i only drive this car in the spring/summer with its warm and above 65 degrees out. and i store the car every winter in a building that is not heated, but never gets below freezing (32 degrees). I only beat my engine once in a while, other than that i just drive it normally and do the speed limit. other than that the only thing i do is rev up the engine at times in the city.. so I am wondering what oil would be the best for my engine...thanx for lookin

Re: what kind of engine oil should i use???
Pretty much any 5w30 or 10w30 should be fine, assuming the bottom end is stock and in reasonably good shape. I like using synthetic oils myself, and don't beleive the stories about how synthetic oils will cause leaks, its not really true. Synthetics are good because they handle high temperatures better, stick to parts better when the engine is not running (less chance of dry starts, especially if it goes long periods without being run), and have a longer service life before it becomes necessary to change oil.
