Re: oil pan drain bolt wont budge.... how to remove??

there is one way to drain the oil on a sb Chevy and its threw that stuck drain plug if the oil pans not super rusty get a long backer bar on it and a six point socket and brake it lose other then that there's not much you and do,PB blaster works well for stuck bolts

I would stay away form heating it at all so you don't burn up oil in it and get stuck with sludge

either the plug has to come out, or the pan has to be dropped - no other alternatives.

i second the breaker bar
i use the bar from my jack. assuming you have one use it or a piece of pipe, slip it over ratchet and use it as a cheater bar ive done this neumorous times, with oil drain bolts, flywheels, and reinstalling harmonic balancers(works great)
