I thought I'd get a jump on this weekend's project. So I put in all MSD Street Fire Wires, Cap and Rotor and she won't start! I did each wire one by one. Plan to do plugs and Street Fire Ignition this weekend. She sounds like she wants too start but won't turn over! What did I screw up????!!!!!

double check your firing order, two plugs to your ignition module on the distributor and the plugs on your coil.

It worked fine, then I pushed down on them on the Distibuter cap and it stopped starting.

Have you checked if you have spark at all??

The MSD Street Fire plug wires need to go in a certain way. 2 of them were the wrong way so I flippped them around. I double and triple checked all connections. And it still won't start. Could I have put my rotor on wrong? It's so easy, I yanked the old one off and slapped the new one on. I also did each wire, 1 by 1. Can't figure it out.

sorry to hear that...are the rotor and cap matching brand? sometimes the rotor doesn't touch the cap's "coil tab" long shot but that might be it... sorry but i need to ask again...have you re check your firing order?

The wire, cap, rotor, and coil are all MSD STREET FIRE. All brand new. Alright, re-wired all plugs again 1 by 1. Double checked firing order, its good. Took out new coil and put new coil back in, double checked those 3 connections, they are good. Only thing I didn't do was re-check the cap and rotor. I'm working in the dark so I have to hit it at sunrise. FACH!

juanillox8 & I figured it out this morning. Distributor cap wasn't seated correctly and got chewed the &%$# up along with the rotor when it spun! DARN IT! Just walked to the Auto parts store and got another one. Lets see if it works. Someone learned about caps and rotors today

figured it out urself buddy ....line up the cap with the groves on the ignition mudule first and them tighten it... thats how you know its sited right

Whatever, Dude. You helped me, probably at the office instead of doing work! Anything is better than work. Put the new one in, took 5 minutes. She fired right up.
