What is the difference between a 4 pin icm and a 7 pin icm??
for a 86 iroc 305 tpi with integral coil distributors? And will a missing tach filter prevent injector pulse? My tach wire is white not black like alldata says it should be.. My tach sits at max rpms all the time? Is that why im getting no pulse? Or is that a different circuit? How do I easily test if my ecm is bad? I bought the car with no distributor to match it up to cuz he says it was backfiring and they took it out and saw it was cracked and apparently threw it away... I have everything but no injector pulse but the 7 pin dizzy autoline d2085 from rock auto had a notch that didnt match up with the slots on the cars flat four tube weather pack connector so I cut a slot for it cuz the wires were all the same color but still no injecty.. Do you think the four pin dizzy d2104 will fit? Do you think I have other things goin on? Why is this so ridiculous? Please thank you and sorry for asking so many things.. I just cant believe its so uncommon of a dizzy when 50000 86 tpi 305 camaros were made..
Please help

the 4-pin module is for older vacume advance HEI,
the 7-pin for '81~'86 HEI with ECM controlled timing.
I too have found slightly different ECM plugs on CCC
distributors;i think carb uses one style and EFI the
other style-AFAIK, the only difference is the coil
polarity-one uses red+white coil primary leads,the
other red+yellow. For the tach problem, they can get
stuck at max if power is cut to the tach when it is
above a certain RPM-if high revs don't get the tach
back to normal, you could try physicly moving the
needle back to zero and see if normal operation
resumes.

What is the difference betweek rock auto distributors autoline d2085 and autoline d2104?? And are there any other distributors with that flat four prong weatherpack connectors? Cuz the 2085 isnt pylsing my injectors and I had to cut the cars connector to make it fit.. And idk if I have a tach filter? Do I need that to pulse my injectors?
