Fuel Tank Vent Filter? 92 Camaro 3.1L
Ok, so I am disassembling in order to get the fuel tank out for a fuel pump change. Disconnecting the brake line from a bracket forward of the rear end, I find this thing that I think might be a filter or valve on what I think is the fuel tank vent line. I haven't dropped the tank yet as I still have to pull the exhaust out so haven't confirmed that yet. Anyway, a hose comes from the top of the tank to this round "cannister" that is white plastic and was snapped into the same bracket that the brake line was attached to. Its about 2 inches in diameter and maybe 2 inches tall.. It has the hose in the top and what looks like a small tube open at the bottom..
Anybody know what it is and where to buy a new one?? The snap holding it to the bracket broke as I was working with the brake line.. Also, if this is some kind of vent valve or filter could that be the source of gas fumes when I fill the tank all the way full?
I won't be able to get back to it and actually drop the tank until late next week....
Thanks...

You'll be looking for this part that they no longer make anymore 10033125. I bought a new one about 5 years ago, but noone seems to have them available anymore.

Good luck on finding it though. Check Ebay often, Google, anywhere. Sooner or later someone will have one for sale. Also Search for terms like Firebird vent valve, Camaro fuel vent. Anything similar will help as lots of people label things very poorly when they put em up.

Re: Fuel Tank Vent Filter? 92 Camaro 3.1L
Vapor canister is a different valve than the one I was talking about.. The one I am talking about has a hose that runs from the tank pipe about 8 inches to the valve mounted on the brake line bracket in front of the differential and bolted to the body behind the rear seat. I cleaned mine...
