opinions on these heads

Here is my setup.
350, tpi/w882 heads, hyper flat tops, shorty headers,
cam is 224@.05 114 lsa .460 lift flat tappet.
165ecm,,eprom burner,,
700r trans/4.10 rear
I just purchased an HSR/30lb injectors/aeromotive PressRegulator
NOW I need some heads. I really want some afr195's; but,
I just looked at some PROCOMP REVISED CNC'D CHAMBERS@210cc intake.
They look really nice for LESS than half of the AFR heads.
I know that they are NOT as good as AFR heads,,,but I am gonna be
(cam limited) anyway,,,right???
Im not looking for big dyno numbers, or low et's,, this is just my hotRod.
These heads are not as good as AFR's, but is there really gonna be $800 worth of gain with the afr's? I mean $800???
Or truthfully will I even NOTICE the difference with that little cam.
The flow numbers aren't that great on the ProComp heads, that is why I'm going with the 210's vs some of their smaller heads.
AND what about 1.6 rockers???
I can purchase a bigger cam, but I went with this cam for ease of tuning.
Once again, im not making numbers,,,just a fun ride.
How about some constructive opinions guys.
This cam is tuned good with the stock tpi. My car is just slow.
4500rpms sux.
BTW... Anyone know of a good tune that will get me started with this combo?
Thanks in advance
Mike
Also,,,thoughts on 210cc vs 190cc ProComp heads,,

Re: opinions on these heads

I cant give an opinion about the procomps themselves, but i can say that you get what you pay for. Cheaper isn't always good. Look into the jegs or summit brand heads, they are supposed to flow very well for the price and I've never heard a complaint about them.

Re: opinions on these heads

thanks guys, ima do a little more studying.
Would really like some heads NOW: but, you know how it goes.
Buyers remorse is a bitc!!
in the late 70' I built a really nice engine (for the time).
I ended up putting that engine in 3 different cars, it was like luggage,,
it stayed with me forever. I really loved that engine. It was in a 77 nova (wrecked) '74 Vega wagon (150k miles), rebuilt it; then 66 nova SS.
I think I will just wait and get the heads I really want. That way, no matter
what I do, I will always have a 400hp engine to put into future cars.
And not wonder (what would it do with AFR's in it).
Yes; Jegs and Summit heads are sweet also.
I just spent $900 on an interior for my Iroc, I can drive around on the 882's for a while longer. (if they don't break).
My dream car deserves better. If i buy cheap heads I will always wonder
what could have been.
Thank you guys
