Timing MArks, Peaks 4 or 2deg apart?

I have 88 305 TPI. Stock timing it was a little to the right of the first front facing peak after the big rear facing peak, being 0degrees. So the first peak to the right of 0. My stock timing was a pas that in the valley between 1-2 peaks.

The guide here states the first peak is 4dege advanced and the 2nd = 6 degrees. I advanced mine the 2nd on and changed the code.I set the code originally to 5 degrees since it was sitting in the valley of 1-2.

Now other searched state it is 4 and 8 degrees for the peaks and the valley being 6. This would make more sense since the car was stock and untouched when I found it. can not imagine some one retarded 1 degree.

So on the 2nd peak form the 0 mark what are my degrees? I want to update my code.

Re: Timing MArks, Peaks 4 or 2deg apart?

Correct. Each point is 4*, each "valley" is the 2* in between each point, except for the "big V' which is 0* (TDC).

So, second point CCW (to the left) of the big V is 8* BTDC.
