A few more quick questions.

87 iroc 305 tpi, the sensor is right next to the oil filter. Its oil temp right? I know oil pressure is near the distributor for my year.

Anyways, that sensor has chewed wires to it and I'm wondering if that would cause any other unforseen issues. Struggling with code 33.

Re: A few more quick questions.

No such thing as an oil temp sensor on a factory thirdgen. The sensor directly above the oil filter by only an inch or so is for the oil pressure gauge. I'm not sure if 87 was at the distributor or filter but if I remember right TPI had it down by the filter and carb'd by the distributor. Don't quote me on that. As far as your code 33 http://www.chevythunder.com/myweb/maf_code_33.htm

Re: A few more quick questions.

Okay, well my car is factory and I have sensors in both locations. I took out the factory oil pressure sender to replace it with my autometer one, and it was up top near the distributor. I can take some pictures if you want.

I know is 87 is a weird year, anyone wanna shine some light on this?

Re: A few more quick questions.

What would the distributor one be for in stock applications if not the gauge? Why would the bottom one need two wires if its just running a gauge?

Re: A few more quick questions.

ok, maybe the one by the distributer is for the gauge and the one by the filter is for your fuel pump?

mine is a 91 and it uses a combo sensor by the oil filter, gauge and fuel pump. but the fuel pump portion is just back-up incase the relay goes out it will send power to the fuel pump if you have oil pressure.

Re: A few more quick questions.

The one you have by the distributor is not for a factory gauge. It's aftermarket.

So what problems, if any, will I face by having the wires chewed to that switch?
