Pushrod guide plates are shifting when I torque the rocker studs.

Pushrod guide plates are shifting when I torque the rocker studs.
I have AFR 1040 heads, AFR says to torque the rocker studs to 60 lb ft, but no matter how tight I get it by hand first, the guide plates shift/rotate with the stud when I torque it down which shifts both of the pushrods to the rear of the engine. This is swinging the rocker roller off to the side of the valve stem by 1mm or more. Are there any tricks you guys can offer for how to get these guide plates to stop shifting? I'm using the guide plates and rocker studs provided by AFR. The rockers are Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum Rocker Arms.
I've tried leaving the rocker tip off the other side of the valve stem, but then when I torqued it down it didn't shift enough to keep the roller centered. I can keep trying that, but thought I'd ask all of you here if you've got any other thoughts.

Studs usually have a taper, and guide plates a countersink, to positively locate the plates.
Rockers aren't supposed to be centered. Actually is better if they're not. They're supposed to be off to one side a bit, to make the valve rotate. Doesn't particularly matter how much as long as it's not excessive. Generally as long as all of em are off about the same amount, it's probably the designed-in amount, i.e. about right. If ONE is WAY OFF compared to the others though, that's a different matter; probably indicates something machined wrong.

Thanks. It just didn't seem right to me but, I will keep going along as I was then. I appreciate your input on this, I don't want to mess anything up. They do have a little taper on the bottom of the stud and the guide plate holes are somewhat slotted to allow a little bit of movement, I'll make sure I'm not missing the hole on them too, as that might cause some of this.

Having the confidence to allow the rocker tips to be slightly off center side to side, I went back to finish the assembly and decided to dab a little bit of ARP Assembly lube between the rocker stud and pushrod guide. That really helped to prevent the bolt from twisting the guide plates around and get a more consistent position from rocker to rocker. Thanks again for the info.
