How long does gas last just sitting?

My car has sat for about 8 months now. Tank was almost empty when we did the carb to TPI conversion.
Does gas get stale after a long period of time?

I added a gallon of 93 octane and some fuel injection cleaner.
What else should I do?
I don't plan on dropping the tank either.

Thanks

Not exactly sure on how long it can sit before it goes bad.
I my experince with a full tank of gas and no additives, five months is fine and there is no notice less gas mileage.

if you only have a little in it.. just top it off with 10+gal of fresh

Otherwise.. take loose the line from the fuel pump and turn on the ignition you should be able to drain the tank that way.

When kept below 85degrees and sealed, fuel is good for 1year easy.

I'm sorry I'll have to disagree with you guys, I had a tank of gas go bad in about 2 months. It was in a carbed car, I had to set the timing back about 10deg. so it wouldn't ping like a bit#! once I put new gas in it was fine. but since you did put gas in you should be fine.

if you had gas go bad in 2months something else was taking place

I bought 10gals of race gas 1 year ago and I just finished it in the last 2 weeks.

I the info I quoted about 85degrees and unvented was directly off of the cam2 (or VP racing fuels) site.. I forget which.
