my engine hoist is too short!

yeah, it seems to be about a foot or so short, and i have it to maximum extension, how much room will i get if i pull the front bumper assembly all off?

Do you mean it doesn't have a long enough reach. ame thing happened to me but it was only like four inches shrt. We just let it hit the front nose. It bent it in but it p[ooped right back out. It was a 91 firebird o it has the big nose. Taking off the front should give you enough room.

You need to go get a longer length of the square tubing and drill it like the old one. Buy "schedule 60" pipe minimum

Or you could try putting the hoist at the side of the car. You need a 360 degree pivot on the hoist chain to do it this way. It's awkward but can be done.

Pulling the front end seems pretty drastic.

I have a better idea.....use an extended hitch with a ball on the end. You know, the kind of hitch that goes into a 2" receiver. Works great to get you that extra reach to clear those long noses on our cars.
