confused...

i've been considering buying the 330 horsepower 350 crate motor fromg GM performance parts. It says that it is not for fuel injection setups. It doesnt come with an intake manifold/carb.My question is what is so different in it that it cant accept fuel injection?I know of people that have converted old carbeurated engines to fuel injection so why would this be different?

Probably just because it's prepped for or includes a fuel pump for a carb and a camshaft with a fuel pump lobe. You can still use it, doesn't matter.

It simply means GM has not certified it for emissions with any fuel injected, post-'75 application.

Note that both a TBI and now TPI manifolds are available for it (actually, they're for Vortec heads, which the HO uses). If you want to use it with a fuel injection setup, they're just saying you're on your own.

I know a guy who races an early '70's Nova who has that engine with Holley's injection setup. So, there is more than one way to skin that cat.

Of course... you'll need a distributor, unless you decide to run OptiSpark on it.

would i need to change the cam out then? or would i just not hook up the lobe that goes to the fuel pump. Also, since i know fuel injection uses different fuel pumps (i think, actually) would i have to get any type of adapters or anything else like that?
