hey has 2 be either... 1 crappy driver to pull 14 sec 1/4s off of that... or... 2, he is just b.s.ing and he runs quicker. cause id think w/ a 347 he would have put SOME power in that engine.

Yep i'm going with high 12's. I think Nic said he had his vert running low 14's with just suspension mods and a stock motor. But with a 347 stroker this guy should be putting out some decent HP and tq.

Yall are underestimating this thing...

With the right suspension mods and even halfway decent driving he should be in the high 11's...low 12's at the very worst. My 302 makes enough power to push my car into the low 12's and he's got more displacement and a better flowing set of heads than I do. He's probably making at least 400 hp at the crank, if not more.

Couple things to note:

I didn't see a mention of a cam. I seriously doubt anyone would have a stock cam with a combo like that.

Also, 3.08 gears? Either this guy is BS'ing you or he's an idiot. Nobody's going to put that much money into a motor and not have gears in it.

So does he have the World Class T5 or does he have a Tremec? I can't see a T5 lasting very long with that sort or torque output.

My conservative estimate on this guy's car:

12.2 @ 114

Yup, your right, the guy didnīt mention anything about his cam, I could imagine very well that he is still runing with the stock cam.....As far as I know heīs serious about the 3.08 gears.... he has a Tremec but he smoked his clutch a few times, while trying to do "burnouts" in the parking lot
I have never seen him racing, but I doubt that he really knows how to cut it loose.... Iīm really amazed that you guys rate him for low 12s

Well, there would be a point where you start making so much power you want to degear your car since you would have a wider and stronger powerbang. BUT, i wouldn't go as low as 3.08's that''s for sure. With his combo i would probably run 3.55's or 3.27's. Any more than that and unless you have a great rear suspension you'll just spin

The gear would kill that car. A set of 3.55s or better would definately help, but it is hard to match a gear in a car for without knowing which cam he has. He may also have suspension mods, and drag radials all of which would help him alot.

I believe the low 14s stock, because I have the slowest Mustang ever!

Like I said...my car traps high enough to run 12.40's with a power robbing automatic transmission, and, given that he has a properly matched cam (which is still unknown whether he does or not), his motor should be making about 50 more horsepower than my motor does...which leads me to believe he should easily be in the low 12's at worst.

well my statement still stands about high 12's...with what we know not guessing he has better gears and such. If he did have better gearing a good automatic tranny and TC i'd say low 12's to high 11's easily. When i went to ford fun day at new england dragway with my friend last year his last run in the super street class he raced a black notchback with a 347 stroker and nitrous. He didn't need nitrous to beat my friend's 11.7. He ran all motor to a 11.0 and on the juice he was squeezing out low 10 to high 9 second pases. Not a bad little motor if you ask me.

I'd like to meet this fellow stanger, and slap him around for not doing gears first! Usually the first or second mod us mustang guys do. 3.73s would probably do well with that combo, so long as he had the suspension and tire to get it out of the hole...

I figured out the reason why he is still using 3.08 gears, you have to bear in mind that this guy is also stationed in germany and he probably doesnīt want to loose on his top end speed when heīs running it down the "autobahn"....... at least thats the only reason I could imagine why heīd still have them in.
Iīm still stuned that his car should run that fast, I was about to race him, good job i didnīt
