I say the wraith just because it looks cooler. ^_^ Always loved the look of that car. I think there is still a company that produces it for like 220,000 or something. But thats based on old info that i read off the net. Called the PPG 2 I think...
They probably don't produce it anymore.

A family in PA makes kit cars of the wraith. just the body and they drop an unknown engine into it.
only 70,000. Not too bad. But the original from the movie is priceless. i believe it was a pace car also.

That is the car. It had a 442 HP 4 cylinder dual turbo pushing 23 lbs of boost. One mean *** car. The thing only weighed about 1300 lbs. Top speed of 194MPH.
After giving two shots of NNNNAAAAAAWWWWWWSSSSSS the Turbo interceptor takes the Supra for a walk.
Not to be out-done, Vin Schnitzel gives two more shots as he's rounding the corner of the mountain... and there is when the Wraith magically reappears.... Diesel crashes into a bazillion fiberglass and aluminum body kit pieces.... along with green flames from the NNNNNNAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWSSSSSS and the American public is spared from any F&F sequels
The Wraith as a movie could have been so much more
THey could have made that a good racing movie. It would have had the real flavor of street racing, not just hooking up N2O to anything with wheels to make it 1 sec faster (or 5 secs faster like the ricers think).
They had real american muscle. They even had the Dodge Daytona R/T in that movie as a good way to chowcase it. I guess that's the perks of making the Wraith Car.
But you have to admit. Dodges are good performance cars. They had the Turbo Interceptor, and the Charger (F&F). Not to mention the slew of Hemi engines.
Doidge should wake the hell up and mut some more street muscle to the public. And I know they have the viper, but c'mon, make an affoardable platform. Chevy had the camaro under the Corvette platform. What will be under the viper.

Hey, I read in Hot Rod (pg. 62 / Nov. '02) that Chrysler was putting the new 5.7 Hemi in the "300", which is a concept car. So, maybe soon the Viper won't be it's only RWD with power.
i've always thought that thing (wraith) was a fiero with a kit..
anyways..
i know the FnF is a joke, but do you really belive a supra can't hit 10 sec with 10G in it?
that's not counting the body/paint/stickers they put on it, of course..
then add nitrous... O.o
japanese cars i respect
Supra, RX-7, NSX, 300Zx...
Mmmmnn.....'93 Supra TT......PPG Turbo Intercepter.....I think I'm in heaven. WAIT! I need my 3rdgen fix! Gotta have a TransAm!
I love the sound that they put in for the Turbo Interceptor in the movie "Wraith". As for the gentleman who wondered if it was a pace car. Yep, can't remember what year though. I just know it was designed to be.

That has to be the meanest street sound i have ever heard. It wasn't decibel loud, it just sounded like there were a million parts moving. Most of the sound didn't come from the exhaust but from the spooling and unspooling of the twin turbos.
*** I love that engine!!
I would have to go out on a limb and say that the Mopar 2.2 SINGLE turbo cranking 225 HP was better [crafted] than the GN Turbo Buick Motor.
C'mon...4 cylinders and 225 HP. Buick did 6 Cyl and 245 HP in 87. yeah, yeah, GM downplayed the GN specs so it wouldn't outsell the vette of that year, so 275HP.

wouldn't you like to have a 93 supra TT?
Oh I'm sure it could... but I'm just pointing out the fact that the "10 second" races in F&F seemed to take a minute or two....
Yeah that was Oldsmobiles first attempt in a long time at a pace car. not a bad job either! 88-89 year?
I beleive they used a prototype of the Quad four too?
Would love to have that thing!(heel just the engine would do!
Camaro, it wasn't a Olds. It was infact branded under the Dodge name. Its got mopar at heart. The original PPG Turbo Interceptor was capable of almost 200mph with that engine. The body was so aerodynamic that the Coefficient of Drag was .19 I beleive. Thats VERY low. I'm searching up articles to verify what i just stated BTW.
EDIT: The listed coefficient in the article I just read rates it at around .239 I beleive. Which is better than our cars.
Here are some quotes from articles I"ve searched up. I'll add links to them too.
PPG Dodge Turbo Charger pace carThis car was used as a pace car for the 1981 PPG Indy Car World Series. The brilliant red exterior was totally redesigned. It included a new slanted front end with flush headlight covers, front end air dam, real wide wheel flares, rear wing (ala Lamborghini Countach), and flush mounted windows. The interior is cleanly detailed to a racing trim featuring competition harnesses over Recaro seats, aircraft style VDO guages, black anodized aluminum door panels, an on-board fire system and a full roll cage. Power is supplied by a blueprinted turbo-charged version of the 2.2, and the suspension is reworked with wider track front and rear, special sway bars, springs, shocks, improved braking and three piece wheels.

I just wanted to comment on the Dodge Turbo Interceptor that is mentioned on the Pace Car page. It seems that little is known about this car. I did read in a book just a couple of hours ago that the car that is being called the Turbo Interceptor by me and everyone else was actually called a Dodge M4S at the 1986 Chicago Car Show. In that book it mentions the 440 horsepower figure.
Another article. This one has MUCH more info on the PPG Turbo Interceptor, I.E..."Dodge M4S". A pic of it.
Here is the company that sells the "Wraith II" aka a modifed version of the original.

A Supra with 10,000 in it should hit tens that is without going single. The single kits are outrageously priced I think it would cost 10K just for the kit nevermind a fuel system, boost controller, and such.
I hope to at least get down to the low 12's before the end of the T&T season is over(3 weeks).
