Why is this a bad thing? An AMERICAN auto manufacturer is making FAST CARS. It's not like GM is making anything better.........oooooooo another FWD N/A 6!!!!! Wow, they need another one of those!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, that's all they have. When I see someone make something better maybe I'll agree. Don't get me wrong, I love my IROC, but GM doesn't have a single affordable new car that interests me. When are they going to get with the program? Dodge has a brand new 5.7L V-8, and is trying to put it in MORE cars. GM had a 5.7L V-8, but is scared to put it in anything! The old excuse of economy or emissions is utter bull**** , an LS1 with a 6-speed and a good driver will pass emissions with flying colors, and can knock down 30mpg if you try. GM needs to wise up before they lose their heritage. I'm still waiting on a new RWD V-8 sports/muscle car for under 25K, we'll see if they pull it off.
Would you prefer one that barely made 100hp and ran 0-60 in about four weeks? Since when did more performance become a bad thing? It's a pretty decent offering for the money, too.

Neons are pieces of garbage. The PTs look good, but they use Neon drivetrains. Would be pretty easy to turbo the PT in that case, huh? Well, REAL DRIVERS, get ready to see plenty of blown up and wrecked compact pieces of **** on the highway. Sad but true. I wish it wasn't.
Hey, Nic, that sounds pretty good--the Turbo GT. You could add an extra letter. Call it the GTT or TGT.
So how much hp can you get out of the average engine with a 7:0 compression ratio? I know that's a broad question. How much can you get out of the average 3.8 built for a turbo? 300 hp?

-and now im reading that the boost IS NOT TUNEABLE!!LOLOLOL oh boy i sure hope theres a way around that or else the goofball MORONS that buy this are going to be VERY VERY disappointed that to even raise boost is going to require heavy modding,if it is even tuneable AT ALL.i cant help but laugh at this car so far.
-and about that scoop directing cold air to the turbo.i am failing to see the turbo in the pic of that engine,or even a diflector of some sort that shoot air to the turbo that is soooo convientely hid behind the motor where it is visible only if looked for hard enough.
ok well im done with my rant.my opinion.you want a quick turbo car thats actually worth the money.ok then buy a DSM or WRX.cause whats better than a turbo?a turbo with ALL WHEEL DRIVE!!!
NEON SRT-4= :lala: <---:nono:
Think about it though. The BOV is integrated into the compressor. There is no need to install one because it comes stock. There is no need to upgrade it because the stock BOV is matched up to the limitations of the stock turbo. The only reason someone would need to upgrade the BOV was if it couldnt handle high boost. But that turbo wont make high boost. Its a small turbo (16G based). If people want high boost they will replace the turbo, witch in turn means they are replacing the compressor, witch means they will NEED to buy an aftermarket BOV for high boost. So that BOV should be fine for that turbo. And I'm almost 100% certain you will be able to turn up the boost with an aftermarket solution. Guarantee you some aftermarket company will develop a piggy back ECU / boost controller. This will probably void the warranty. But the fact that it comes with a 2.25-bar map sensor means they know people will want to push higher boost (FYI 14.5 psi = bar 1).
Not glorifying Neons or anything but for around 20k out the door this is a pretty cheap fast car with potential.
How fast can you go with wrong-wheel drive, before you have to run around with wheelie bars that touch the ground when you're stopped, and slicks on the front?
Front wheel drive is definitely not for drag racing, and isn't great for road racing either.
I like the engine. I have nothing against small motors putting out lots of revs and lots of hp. That's nothing new. BUT, it's when the OE's install them east/west so that soccer moms can drive in the rain, I get pissed.
I think the STR-4 is cool as hell.
Although selecting a more attractive vehicle to boost would have been more appealing and sensible.
I'll wait to see how they *actually* do in RL before I give them the
:hail:
I still remember the wrx hype.. *snicker*
We gotta quit with the lame "it's still a neon" excuses and start modding guys.
There are plenty of ppl who think thirdgens are ugly and junky, does that really matter in a race?

A: There will not be the option to delete any of the standard equipment on the 2003 Dodge SRT-4. The rear wing in functional and balances the car's aerodynamics at speed.
:sillylol: LMAO
Sure it does. Its a good thing to take weight off the driven wheels (front) and transfer it to the rear at speed, right?
I say for one year, GM reproduces the 57 Bel Airs, Pontiac with the GTO's , 67 Chevy Nova's all with big blocks, carbed, cammed, headers, tuned exhausts, muncie 4 speeds!!! that would be awesome to see a blast from the past at new car lots!!!! I love to dream about this....AARON
