96 Nissan Maxima vs. 88 L98 GTA

My friend has a 1996 Nissan Maxima with a DOHC 3.0 V6, Crank Pulley, CAI, Cat Back Exhaust, Hi Flo Cat, dropped, with a 100 shot of Nitrous compliments of NX....well alongggggg time ago when we raced I had him by about a car and then I heard his engine scream....I stayed at his door...I was like damn man he beat me on motor!!!! AHHH NOO!!! and he always told me it was on motor when we got that run in.....So today he told me he shot the nitrous when we ran that time...and I stayed on his driver door the whole way..that time he had a 50 shot in and he was going 14.2-14.4.....now today he met me at school today cause I told him about all the BS the street racers are giving me...so guess what...all the street racers know about his Maxima going 13.1 on Nitrous with the car bogging and spinning the slicks...so no one wante to race him......well me and him when at it again and he had the 100 shot in and as soon as I downshifted and was starting to pass him he shot it!!!! that bastard!!! he beat me by about 2 car lenths!!!! and shut down early....damn.....I guess those were my two losses to any import hear in town...and believe me its not ****..its a true import.....sucks losing to these four door family mobiles, while they are all in comfort and I'm in my cramped up GTA....oh well....time for mods......AARON

*struggles trying to hold back from saying something nasty*

So...do you think that you could have beat him without the 100 shot? Sounds like it to me. That's all I dare to say for now.

on motor yes

If we were to race on motor I would take him....but he is always bottle fed....that Maxima is well respected in the street racing scene around here and at the track too...I mean he is going all tricked out...he is changing the front end to a posi front end, new cams, all new forged parts for the engine, built up tranny, diffrent ecm, more suspension work, roll cage, all the nooks and cranny's he is hoping to get into the high 11's low 10's on nitrous and low 14's high 13's on motor.....AARON

Now...with all his.."real mods"...to all of yours, your car is faster. Performance-wise, your car is better....so...uh...Does everyone understand what I'm getting at? 13s...good. Fast for a maxima. But, is that the best it can do? In my opinion, nitrous makes more sense to use when you have reached or realized or visualized your engine's potential and you want to surpass it.
Is 13s all that engine can do? Admittedly, it's probably all my 403 can do, and that's ok. It's a good engine anyway. When it was in the Cadillac, it achieved 20 mpg on the highway. A Maxima, as far as I've heard, is good at what it is meant to be. But...well, let's be logical here people. Well...this way of doing things...It's like trying to milk a dog or put a saddle on a cat. They were not meant for that, so likewise...
I don't blame him for modifying it. Rather, I appreciate it. But make the car what it isn't is just ridiculous. Hell, I'm going to modify the Topaz, but you'll never hear me trying to race one of your "Sports"..."Muscle" cars. Well, I would for fun, but to win? No. Nonsense.
