need some turbo grand prix info

Hey everyone, i just picked up a 89 turbo grand prix tonight for 200 bucks... they guy told me that the turbo was blown... well when i drove it there was a lot of white smoke, but the turbo spooled and went like a sob when i went 50% on the gas and it down shifted.... so im about 100% sure its a head gasket or something around that area... What i want to know is.. is it fast enough to keep if all it needs is a head gasket or is it worth some money, i know they are rare... but.. im sure there not popular..

help me out here.. The body is almost perfect... i can pull the single small dent out, and the paint is great.. the interioir isnt so good... the engine seems really good and hopefully to make it 100% all it needs is the head gasket. How much can i get and can i have a little info on it? thanks

200 is a good deal for an 89. If all it needs is a head gasket then it would be worth fixing. If it is a higher mileage car then you will definately need a new x-over pipe for the car. You can order the x-over pipe from a guy that specializes in Turbo Grand Prixs. If you get the x-over pipe, you can also get a chip from him that is capable of dropping the car into the 14's. The chip and pipe are like 900 I think. Worse comes to worse, you part the car out. You can easily make more than 200 off parts. Go here for some info www.w-body.com.
