That may be close. I know those 3.1 cavy's are quick to start with. Especially the rare 5 spd ones. Well if he has about 250 hp or so you guys are just about equal in the power to weight ratio. Your best bet is to run him from a stop. You have the flatter power curve but if he is spooling from a roll it will be very close.

I agree. I would not even try to race from a roll. Definately go from a stop. Good luck and keep us posted.

I used to own a 1990 Z-24 With 3.1 V-6 (for about 2 weeks). that was a very fun car while it lasted. It had an amazing amount of torque off the line. But uip top it lacked a little bit. I think it might be a good race.

Well if your opinion is he is a bad driver that could also factor in his skills vs yours. Good luck...Any guess on when this race should postpone to?

Something doesn't add up to me here so please educate me. He has an 85 Camaro making 300 HP and 350Tq theres people running in the 12's with that much HP in there 3rd gens. Maybe its the torque #s that are throwing me off. What type of intake? Is that a carbed car? Shouldn't his Tq have gone up a bit more with that much HP?

That will onyl yield 12's if the rest of his car is up to par with a little weight reduction. Those numbers sound fine. An Lt1 makes about the same exact numbers. Sure they are rated different from GM but strap one to a dyno and you will see numbers almost identical to that. Just depends on the selection of parts.
