what kind of Imprezza is it ? RS, WRX, or STI?
RS = mid to high 15s
WRX = mid to high 14s
STI = mid 13s
and that would be them stock with a good driver.
Was it a newer or older Impreza? They made them back in the mid to late 90's and weren't really anything special. I hung with a new-style WRX today on my way to work, I was pretty impressed. I was thinking these ran mid high 13s, and then I realized that's the STi. The WRX runs mid-high 14s as stated, and makes perfect sense as to why I hung with him
well... whatever them dam non-turbo wanna-be wrx things are, legacy outback imprezza, same crap to me...lol.... i dont know he told me it was an imprezza... to tell u the truth i could give 2 sh1ts about any subaru.... sorry about the mistake tho i didnt mean to sound stupid.. i was just going by what i was told... i guess it was an outback or something... i dont know... and yea my car isnt that quick... and i no i would never pull with a wrx or sti....and lik e i said i dont know a dam thing about them cars... i just thought it was a good kill for for the ol' LO3... BTW im almost possitive it was this... i did a little search and this looks about right... http://www.statesmanclassifieds.com/...ack_wagon.html

So it was an Imprezza wagon RS I'm guessing? Good kill anyway, was it stick?

yep stick....heh... i dont know... i thought it was cool.... beating a brand new car with more horsepower and AWD with a manual....when i have less horse RWD and auto... it is what it is i guess
The new wagon the one u showed the pic of sounds like a decent car has over 200 horsepower should be enough to take down a L03. My mother had a 2000 wagon just like the once u pictured those only had 167 horsepower if i remember right and are pretty much doggs all around even with the 5 speed she had. My guess is it was the older model with the 167 horsepower engine
My old Scooby was a non-turbo impreza wagon. Piece of crap with regard to performance. Fast? Heck no. Who are you kidding? That thing is a dog. 0-60 in like 10 seconds. Yick. It probably ran the 1/4 in like 16-17 seconds. It was great for reliability, hauling stuff, and playing in the snow. Beating one of them is rather easy since it's a real dog. They came with 142hp for the 2.2L and 165hp for the 2.5L. The WRX version was turbocharged and comes with 227hp. Even the WRX completely stock is a dog in my humble opinion. Sloooooooooow. But, then again, I had close to 400 at the wheels in my camaro and you sort of get use to that power. My new ride is a 2005 STi. Stock it put down 245 to ALL wheels (rated at 300hp/300tq from the factory). With a turboback exhaust and some computer tuning I'll be putting down about 300 to the wheels and running in the 12's. With about 3200lbs from the factory she'll move nice and quick.

Originally posted by Dr G Yes they do actually. 4 door saloon, 5 door hatch, 5 door estate and the 2 door models. It all depends what is most common in your part of the world.
That's called a wagon silly.
My mom used to drive us to school in an old Ford Taurus hatchback. lol
No problem Stu - Estate or station wagon - it's all the same to me! I was just trying to get across that it's a model that's been around for over ten years and is available in more than 3 continents!
I'm not sure if you are mixed up as regards the patently obvious difference between a wagon and a hatchback. They are quite different entities. PM me and I can email you some pics of the respective very different styles of car.
