How can you have two chips? Or if it came with two, install the TPIS one over the Hypercrap, you'll be glad you did. And I assume you meant 51k miles, not 51? If it has 51 miles I think you have the lowest miles IROC I've ever seen

What kind of tires? DRs or street?

You have too many pics, mods only allow you to attach 3 max, but you can host them somewhere and link them, so a mod will probably edit your post. Also might want to shrink down your sig a bit, it's pretty large.

Nice looking car

It came with two chips the hypertech makes 5hp more over the TPIS,but the TPIS is reprogrammable. So if i did heads, and a cam swap I could reprogram it to the new specs. Yes it has 51K my bad. Got a set of BFgoodRich G-force. Got radials for the track..............

awesome... but ditch that Hypertech thing ASAP... go custom to get the full potential...

i think you might want to post this on the appearance board, instead of the racing board.

Ya, you gotta wonder if what we would gain with our stock motors is worth the 4 grand. It looks like to really get your moneys worth out of any blower you need to build a low compression blower motor that can take more boost. Procharger seems to be the way to go, though, from everthing I have read here on TGO coupled with the warranty they offer. With our cars, our drivetrain can only handle up to 400 hp from everthing I have read so that 4 grand for the blower will cost us a lot more with all the rest of the mods we would have to do. But I am going to keep dreaming for the time being! I remember as a kid, my father would take me to car shows and I would see guys with T-shirts that would say "Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown" Still makes me laugh...

Might be better off doing the heads and the cam before the blower. I got to find one of them T-shirts haha thats great. I want to get into the high 12's by the spring. Right now I am puting out low 300's for horsepower. If i go with edelbrock heads and a comp cam i would see a huge gain. Maybe in the ball park of 60 horsepower i would guess.

Yeah it was the most I could afford, but its good enough for me. Also its fast enough for now. Im only 19 so I really can't go out and buy a 20,000 doller 2002 Camaro SS or WS6 Trans Am you know? I like the older F-body style better than the new ones anyways. I know the 00-02's run in the low 13's stock, but give me by spring time and i'll be right their with them.

Hey what do you guys think my 0-60 is? I have 1/8 times and 1/4 times. I wish i could find out what the 0-60 is after all of the mods. People sometimes ask me and I usually say 5.3-5.5 but I am not sure if thats accurate or not. What do you guys think?

I don't think it's possible for that car with those mods to trap 105 mph. A 2.73 geared A4 LS1 will trap about 105, and I don't see you staying even with an LS1 with those mods. I think either A. The guy gave you fake times, or B. Something else has been done to it.

I'd guess a low 5

Get yourself a Gtech and find out yourself. They can be had for 35 bucks at surplus computers.

If you go with AFR heads with the right Comp-Cam, you would see even bigger gains... throw in a nice stall speed converter, and you're running in the 11's!

...without a supercharger.

Street Legal? It's all in the tuning. As for any visual concern, provided you run EGR, Catalytic Converter, and Smog Pump, you'e fine.

As far as 0-60 and 1/4 times, it's very accurate, 1/4 mph is usually around 5mph higher than the track though. I never messed with anything else it does to know how accurate they'd be.

Here we go......I ran a best of 13.7@98 this weekend on DR's. So with all of my mods I brought the 1/4 time down about a full second from stock would you say?

That would be about right. You should be running a little lower that that though. A custom prom would do wonders.

Do you guys think a bigger throttle body would make better power? I also found a SLP cold air intake system that replaces the stock air cleaner. Would that be worth it since I already have a K&N under the hood? I want to get every possible useful bolt on done before I do the Heads, and Cam. Any feedback would be helpful thanks.......

I do think though that a throttle body would make a big difference because besides that youv'e got youre stock TPI system almost maxed out. I agree with CrimsonDragon, you won't get very much bang for your buck with a supercharger, plus you'll have to beef up your tranny and rear end. As it stands you are putting quite a load on your stock drivetrain.

As you can see in the pics of the motor I still have the stock air cleaner assemble. I found this SLP cold air intake that looks to me like it replaces the stock air cleaner assemble. I have a K&N in the car right now if I got this kit would I still be able to keep the K&N filter in the car? Do these kits add any power? Thanks

Here is the kit. Would I be better off keeping the stock assembly with the K&N filter as it is now?

In my opinion I think you will get more performance with custom ram air boxes and its cheaper too. I bought mind from Ebay for $50 or you can just make them yourself just cut out the dust sheilds and run some pipe to your air filters. I felt a real difference in power plus you will also see a power gain if you switch from a 48mm to a 52mm TB. Upgrading TBs has already been proven to add hp on stock engines besides its something you would want to do anyway if you plan on any engine mods.

This upgrade will only add to your power gains with each engine mod.

The Camaro TPI intake flows more than enough. Just gut the boxes and put K&Ns (which you have in there) Instead of 600 for the intake and throttle body, get a 2800+ stall

Hey 89IrocZ350TPI!

I can sell you a brand new shift kit still in box and a brand new 2000 stall torque convertor thats 500 rpm over stock. Which is all your going to get with a stock cam even if you had a 2800 stall your cam won't let you go any higher! This upgrade should help with your times. $160 for both plus shipping.

I put my car away for the summer, and drive it during the winter. It rains like a mofo here, but never snows and it golden during the winter months.

Does it come with Internet Explorer? heh.

I found the dual chips listed funny too.

The SLP kit you posted is for Firebirds only, which do benefit more from it, your factory setup is fine.

Did you run those times or the guy you bought it from told you?
I'd like to see the dyno sheet/timeslips you have.
You should probably list your actual rwhp instead of guessing a crank # if so.
Most people know that drivetrain loss is not included.

Dual Chips? The guy gave me two chips 1. Hypertech stage one, and then a reprogramable chip from TPIS. I think the reason he bought the reprogramable chip is beacuse he was thinking of having engine work done such as the heads and the Cam. Then you could reprogram the chip to fit the new specs of the car...
