To me streetable is a car thats licensed and registered... Im talking in the realm of what the motor can and cant do... saying a 350 has more potential when talking all out, when you get to the limits of the motor, you no longer really have streetable cars (whether 350 or 302). For 99.5% of us, and what we are going to do to our cars the 350 has no more potential to run faster... The only thing it has is more potential to make 400 NA rwhp easier, but when you need that power to run what a 350 rwhp Mustang runs, to me it seems like a wash. Im glad my car only puts down mid 260s to the tires... I dont know many Fbodies with that power that can run the times I run!

Weight is a huge factor, but to try and get a thirdgh what a fox will with the same options is going to be impossible. Weight also saves parts breakage, gas mileage and other factors. One motor might make power but it more or less has to to get the same results as the smaller one!

I'm pretty sure a stock GT 5-speed with a half competent driver would put bus lengths on a stock L98 car. Autos run high 13s. The new ones are almost as fast as 6-speed LS1s, mid-13s is common. Congrats to the dude with the formula for having a quick ride, but I don't see why it's surprising for a mid 13 second car to beat a high 13 second car

That's all I'm saying as well, I strongly feel this was a very low 14(14.1-14.0) second car stock. My mods have probably chopped atleast .4 off that with some traction, which is right what I'm seeing.

stealth ram, probably, headers-yes, 3000 stall-no My plan is putting a T56 soon, and a ZZ4 or fast burn 385 crate motor in this car, and making a clone of this car, one of my all time faves

Then I will Hunt me some Cobras!

Yeah it's all power to weight ratio. All the thirdgen needs to do is loose some weight, and it's extra 50 hp will kick the fox's ***

power to weight is the name of the game in racing.

True, but I just said racing. If you're talking drag racing only, then yes, traction is the difference between 14.0@104 and 12.9@104.

ZZ4s are L98s for all intents and purposes. I wouldn't bother with it. GM crate motors are very overrated but if you're looking for a dependable warranty I wouldn't go with anything else. T56 sounds like a good way to go through

I wouldn't say that. They are proven products. GM doesn't overrate their engines.

Can a better setup be had for less/the same? Yes, but that doesn't mean that GM's crate motors are overrated.

There is a 93 LX notch at my track... 100% street trim..that runs high 9's/low 10's and looks like a 14 second car and SOUNDS like one too. ALL stock interior...no gauges..nothing. It is auto and has a Vortech..other than that..I have no idea what it has. I assume a 347 since it does not have a 351 based engine..I looked under the hood last Weds. He drives it to the track..drops the tire pressure and runs those times..full exhaust..all street.

Alot of people knock the 93 Mustangs since they do not have the forged pistons like the 85-92 but mine went great and my friends 93 LX ran 10.8's with the stock bottom end and no problems at all. His 94..also stock bottom end..ran 11.2 with bad rings.

I beat an 06 gt mustang early today. It was on 70mph roll he pulled me till about 90mph then by then i past him and had at least 4 car lengths on him i ended up hitting 145mph or something close to that. then he wanted to race again but i backed off my legs where shaking after going that fast. if i had better gears he would of never pulled me.

another stang bites the dust! I took out my smog pump, Friday, and didn't plug the opening up, so the car felt like it was missing, especially when cold. I was drivin around Fri night, when I see a new Chevy Cobalt, and a green LX Fox hatch, and hear his exhaust. I knew this guy was going to try me, and I was like $hit:embarrasment:we make left turns, as soon as he turns I hear him punch, he gets a jump, I punch, probably took about 5 sec for me to catch and pass him. Then a little bit up, he got right on my a$$, pulls up right next to me at a bout 40mph, we both punch, I leave him pretty easy than I hear him miss a gear I just removed all the smog crap today, and plugged the holes in the manifold and the car seems to be running better than ever. A chip is next on my mods list.

Believe me I just spent the past week down in South Carolina at Mustang Week, and there are a LOT of bad drivers with these cars, and a lot of beat ones. Most of the "guys" down there with Mustangs (most were 03/04 Cobras) were 16-20 and couldn't drive them to save their lives. Most barely knew how to open the hood!

It was funny though, a Z06 would go buy and rev, and a 700 hp 03 Cobra would go after it. Or a WRX would go by fast, and 3 blown Mustangs would make chase. Lots of Mustangs running around racing, which leads to kills and getting killed!

another stang bit the dust last night while I was driving on the highway. It was a silver GT convertible with a Saleen rollbar, that looked to be a 99 because of the badgeing. He atleast had an exhaust as it was pretty loud. He got right on my a$$ in the fast lane than tries to pass, I stomp as soon as I see him change laneshad about 2 cars on him easily, so I slowed down, let him catch up than as where door to door we both punch and damn, we stayed that way up to 120 until I slowly started to pull a half car and then let off. My car must really need a balance/alignment cauz it was shaking like crazy at that speed. I then followed him to the next exit to see what he had on the street from a 20 roll, I punch, tires lit up, got squirly, and it wasn't even close I know there are plenty of stangs out there faster than my car, but I have yet to lose to one

My Formy's got 25 more torque stock, maybe another 15-20 more with my mods, and my reg says weight is 3276(dont know how accurate that is but it's probably close) I don't think my car will do a 13.6, but most of the auto 05+GT's pull high 13's low 14's, which I'm sure my car will atleast do. He might have taken me from a 50+ blast, but he didn't get the chance.
If it was a stock auto tranny I bet he never even broke 5000rpm's.
